Chris Cody: Piano
Chris Cody began his career as a classical pianist with diplomas from Sydney and London. His versatility led to his playing with some of Australia’s leading jazz musicians including James Morrison, Dale Barlow and Mike Nock and he was awarded prizes for best jazz composition and best jazz pianist. He has since performed in the USA and throughout Europe with musicians including Roy Hargrove, Antonio Hart, Sunny Murray, Herb Geller, Rhoda Scott, Stephano di Battista, Frank Lacy, Graham Haynes, Glenn Ferris, Marcel Azzola and Yves Robert.
His group Chris Cody Coalition has released several CDs to international acclaim and performed at numerous festivals in Europe and Australia. Cody has been sought after as a guest on national radio and television programs, both in Australia and France (Bernard Pivot, France Musique, ABC The Arts Show).
He has also taught at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, was co-founder and director of the Sydney School of Piano and has given masterclasses at universities and conservatoriums around Australia and France. His music is played on the in-flight programs of several international airlines including Qantas. He also writes music for theatre and cinema.
Glenn Ferris: Trombone
Since his debuts with the Don Ellis Orchestra, Glenn Ferris has proven himself to be one of the most innovative musicians on the international scene. In the USA, he has performed and recorded with many of the greats of contemporary music, including Frank Zappa, Stevie Wonder, Randy Brecker, Michael Brecker, John Scofield, John Abercrombie, George Duke Billy Cobham, Tim Berne and Art Pepper. Since moving to France, he has worked extensively throughout Europe with artists including Michel Portal, Martial Solal, Archie Shepp, Johhny Griffin, Woody Shaw, Steve Grossman, Mal Waldron, Steve Lacy, Aldo Romano, Henri Texier, Paolo Fresu, L’ONJ, Michel Petrucciani and Louis Sclavis. He has also found the time to play and record several CDs with his own group the Glenn Ferris Trio.
Bruno Rousselet: Double Bass
A self-taught musician, Bruno has quickly become highly sought after and appreciated for his big sound, swing, and musicality, as much on stage as in the studio (recordings for CDs, films, ads, TV and radio). He has performed all around the world (Africa, Europe, USA, the Middle East) with jazz artists including Lionel and Stéphane Belmondo, Claude Bolling, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Harris “Sweet” Edison, Christian Escoudé, Marc Fosset, Richard Galliano, Tom Harrel, Antonio Hart, Jon Hendricks, Hugh Masakela, Greg Osby, Horace Parlan, Hervé Sellin, and Mal Waldron.
Laurent Robin: Drums
Laurent Robin is one of the most popular drummers in France. His energy and his mastery of all styles have enabled him to work with musicians as various as Michel Portal (for over five years), Bojan Z, Flavio Boltro, François Moutin, Bernard Lubat, Arthur H, Guyen It, the Belmondo brothers, Laurent de Wilde, and Michel Jonasz. He’s played at the greatest festivals like Vienna, Marciac or Nice and his tours have taken him along to Europe, Africa and Asia.
